About Us
I Can Write Online (ICWO) is the brain-child of Ann Shaw and Mary Phillips, who have a combined 40 years of experience in the instructional reading and writing field. Motivated by a vision of an interactive writing tool that would encourage and motivate students to write - yet still fulfill state performance writing standards - Ann and Mary designed ICWO in 2004. However, they weren't satisfied until they had successfully field tested it with thousands of students across the United States. The ICWO software continues to evolve based on the best teacher and student feedback that Ann and Mary receive.
